Allergic reactions may occur due to cyanoacrylate, an ingredient found in the adhesive. Symptoms can include a burning sensation, redness, puffiness or swelling around the eyelid area, and excessive tearing or watering of the eyes. If you experience any of these symptoms, please contact us immediately so we can schedule you in as soon as possible for safe removal of the extensions and help minimize further irritation.
We would be happy to fix any excessive fallout within the 3-day complimentary period. After that, service charges will apply depending on how many days have passed beyond the 3-day period
Excessive tearing during eyelash extension application is pretty common, and it usually isn’t emotional—it’s a physical response from the eyes. The most common reasons are:
The eye is sensitive to fumes
The adhesive used for lash extensions (cyanoacrylate-based) releases vapors while curing. Even if it’s a “low-fume” glue, some clients are more sensitive, which triggers reflex tearing as a protective response.
Eyes are slightly open during application
If the eye isn’t fully sealed, even a tiny gap lets fumes in. This can cause immediate watering and discomfort.
Air flow or environment
Fans, humidifiers, or strong airflow can push adhesive vapors toward the eye area and increase irritation.
Dry eye or baseline sensitivity
Clients with dry eye often paradoxically tear more. The eye overcompensates by producing reflex tears when irritated.
Pads or tape placement
If under-eye pads or tape are too close to the waterline, they can irritate the eye surface and trigger tearing.
Allergies or developing sensitivity
Some clients are simply more reactive to adhesive over time. Early signs can include increased tearing, burning, or redness during or after fills.
Eye strain or anxiety
Keeping eyes closed tightly for a long time can also cause mild irritation or twitching that contributes to tearing.
Please try to avoid exposing to excessive water for 24hours after service to experience the best retension.
